A Study on Chinese Cancer Patients¡¯ Intention to Visit Korea Medical Institution using Andersen Model and the Theory of Planned Behavior

Abstract
This study combined Andersen model and theory of planned behavior (TPB) to exam Chinese cancer patients¡¯ intention to visit Korea medical institutions which were operated in China.
The study sample consisted of 300 cancer patients in Guangzhou, Wuhan and Changsha city. Intentions were predicted by attitude, subjective norm and perceived behavior control, and the data were supportive of the inclusion of all variables. The study also found that predisposing characteristics, enabling resources and need factors had significant adjustment effects of TPB on Chinese cancer patients¡¯health behavior. In particular, age, marital status, income and stage of cancer had strong adjustment effect between TPB and health behavior.
The results of this study are expected to be basic data for investors who expect to expand their hospital business in China.
